Veritas Legal Aid Society is a registered non-profit legal advocacy organization that works at the intersection of law, social justice, and community empowerment. Founded in 2012, Veritas has a strong footprint in Northern and Eastern India, providing free legal assistance and strategic litigation services to low-income and marginalized groups including women, children, refugees, and disabled individuals.
The society offers legal representation across family courts, district courts, consumer forums, and High Courts, with a focus on civil liberties, labor rights, land acquisition disputes, and administrative justice. Interns at Veritas gain rich exposure to grassroots legal issues, fieldwork, court documentation, client counseling, and PIL drafting, often working alongside legal aid volunteers and retired judges.
